Learning by experience has proven to be a very powerful learning tool

A StreetwiZe expedition is an unforgettable purpose driven development programme that helps you connect to a challenging setting, the 4 street skills and ultimately by doing so to your personal identity, values and aspirations.

This purpose driven learning experience will strengthen your personal, leadership and team interactions skills. The experiential, action-based learning is framed and transferred to the personal and professional reality using methodologies such as sub-team work, team reflections, intervision and coaching. The uniqueness and authenticity of our StreetwiZe expeditions enables you to:

•    Improve the understanding of self agency and strengthen your insights and skills
•    Experience the power and added value of the 4 street skills in an ‘out of the comfort zone’ setting
•    Experience the importance of leadership and collaborative working in a changing environment

We offer 2 formats:

This expedition brings you to the streets of Iasi in the north east of Romania. The trainees will be challenged to design a new educational game for the mobile school. In order to do so, they need to get insights understanding their new client, the street children. Using their reality as the development framework is fundamental to design an effective and successful product. The trainees need to reach out to the streets kids on the streets and connect with empathy. The experience pulls them out of the comfort zone and challenges them to reflect on their personal and team identity. Together with the trainees we use an effective ‘design thinking proces’ to develop and build the new games. Finally they put the games on the Mobile School and take them back to the kids for a testing on the streets. After receiving direct feedback from the customers, trainees get feedback from the Mobile School experts. The best games are picked-up by the Mobile School R&D team, finalised and spread to be used on Mobile Schools worldwide.

In our Belgian Expedition we take participants to the youth detention centre De Zande in Ruiselede. Here we challenge them to co-create a new educational game for the mobile school, together with a group of youngsters. The participants will need the opinion and insights of the youngsters on the European street reality as they represent the target group of the Mobile School projects. The trainees will have to inspire and engage the youngster to participate in the proces. Starting from a positive dynamic they will empower them, position them as experts and surround them with authentic leadership, knowledge and management skills. They coach the youngster towards the apotheosis where they pitch the co-created prototype to a jury of street work experts. During the proces of the expedition we constantly anchor the learnings of the participants, reflecting about their leadership identity and skills. The best games are picked-up by the Mobile School R&D team, finalised and spread to be used on Mobile Schools in Europe.
